Согласно данным Yiche, в июле этого года BYD стал третьим самым продаваемым брендом в мире. Данные показывают, что BYD продала почти в два раза меньше автомобилей, чем Toyota, занявшая первое место, и чуть более 30 000 автомобилей, чем Volkswagen, занявший второе место. Несмотря на столь высокое место в июле, в этом году, с января по июль, BYD находится на восьмом месте в рейтинге продаж. Следует подчеркнуть, что эти результаты относятся к бренду, а не к группе.
BYD продал 315 600 автомобилей в июле по сравнению с 651 200 автомобилями Toyota и 346 200 автомобилями Volkswagen. Ни одному из китайских брендов не удалось попасть в первую десятку, однако Chery удалось занять восемнадцатую позицию с продажами 71 100 единиц, а Geely - двадцатую с продажами 63 800 единиц.

Однако картина продаж за прошедший год существенно отличается. Несмотря на высокие показатели в июле, BYD удалось занять лишь восьмое место с января по июль, основываясь на продажах в 1 714 100 единиц. Продажи Geely были значительно ниже - 577 700, и марка заняла восемнадцатое место. Toyota и Volkswagen снова заняли первое и второе места соответственно, а Honda оказалась на третьем месте по итогам года.
