The electric Zeekr 7X SUV unveiled with a 780 km range

The Zeekr 7X made its debut at the Chengdu Auto Show on August 30. Deliveries to the Chinese market will begin by the end of September, with international shipments to follow later this year. Zeekr has made it clear that the 7X (see specifications) was designed with global markets in mind. The brand’s first midsize electric SUV measures 4,825, 1,930, and 2,925 mm (L/W/H/W). Based on Geely’s Sustainable Experience Architecture (SEA) platform with 800V architecture, the vehicle has a wheelbase of 2,925 mm. It should be noted that the 7X is relatively heavy, with a curb weight ranging from 2,298 to 2,475 kg.

The 7X features Zeekr’s “Hidden Energy” design language. An interactive Zeekr Stargate LCD display runs across the entire front of the vehicle, onto which messages and images can be projected. The rear of the vehicle features full-width taillights. Buyers can choose from four colors: Arctic White, Dawn Brown, Nightfall Gray, and Polar Night Black. The SUV is equipped with 19- or 20-inch wheels.

A midsize, five-seat SUV designed for families. Given the car’s size, the interior should be quite spacious. There are 32 storage compartments, which are convenient for storing various items—from sunglasses to lipstick. The trunk capacity is 616 liters, which, according to Zeekr, is more than enough for camping.
The interior features a fairly standard dual-screen layout. For the Zeekr 7X, this means a large floating infotainment screen and an LCD instrument cluster that is fully integrated into the dashboard. The car’s infotainment system is powered by a Qualcomm Snapdragon 8295 chip. The 7X is equipped with a four-spoke steering wheel, the top and bottom of which are flattened, with the bottom being more flattened than the top. The steering wheel features two scroll wheels and several buttons. Unlike previous Zeekr models, the drive mode selector is now located not on the center console but on a steering wheel-mounted switch integrated into the steering column.

Folding tray tables, which fold out from the front seatbacks, are provided for second-row passengers. Higher-trim models are also equipped with rear-seat entertainment screens. Rear passengers also get heated and ventilated seats in the higher trim levels, which are controlled via a touchscreen on the fold-out armrest. The panoramic roof does not open and is equipped with electric sunshades.
All Zeekr 7X models are available in single- and dual-motor versions; a 310-kW silicon carbide electric motor is mounted on the rear axle. In the dual-motor versions, a 165-kW electric motor is also installed on the front axle, allowing the vehicle to accelerate from 0 to 100 km/h in 3.8 seconds.

All versions of the SUV feature an 800-volt architecture, as well as battery packs with capacities of 75 and 100 kWh. The smaller 75 kWh battery pack uses Zeekr’s in-house “Golden Brick” battery, manufactured by Geely’s subsidiary, VREMT. This is the same second-generation battery that recently debuted in the 2025 model-year Zeekr 007, and it is a lithium-phosphate battery. Zeekr claims this is the world’s fastest charging system, capable of charging from 10% to 80% SOC in 10.5 minutes; the battery charges at 5.5C. The 7X has a range of 605 km according to the CLTC testing cycle. The 100 kWh battery pack uses a Qilin battery, supplied by CATL, which is a nickel-manganese-cobalt (NMC) battery optimized for ultra-fast charging at 5C. This gives the Zeekr 7X a CLTC range of up to 780 km. It’s worth noting that the battery options are identical to those offered for the 2025 model year Zeekr 007 (see specifications).

Equipped with a suite of sensors, including Lidar, and powered by two Nvidia Orin X chips delivering 508 TOPS of computing power, the 7X is expected to feature the same Haohan 2.0 intelligent driving system as the Zeekr 001 and 007. Over the next few months, various updates will be rolled out, leading to the system being capable of “door-to-door” driving in the first quarter of 2025.
