Mass protests against Tesla in the USA: why owners are giving up their electric cars

A wave of protests against Elon Musk and Tesla has swept across the U.S. Participants in the #TeslaTakeover campaign held rallies near the company’s dealerships, charging stations, and factories, urging owners to switch from Tesla electric cars to other brands.

Reasons for the Protests Against Tesla
Protests took place in Washington, D.C., New York, Boston, Austin, Minneapolis, Pittsburgh, Berkeley, and other cities. Protesters oppose Musk’s decisions as head of the Department of Government Efficiency (DOGE) and are demanding his dismissal. They held signs with slogans such as “Shut Down Musk,” “Nobody Voted for Musk,” and “Deport Musk.”

In addition, activists are calling for a boycott of Tesla. They are calling the company’s products “Nazi” and demanding that owners sell their electric cars. Well-known singer Sheryl Crow supported the protest by selling her Tesla Model Y on the day of the demonstrations.
Tesla Sales Are Falling
Amid the protests, demand for Tesla electric vehicles has plummeted in many countries:
-
France — sales down 63.4%
-
Germany — down 59.5%
-
United Kingdom—down 12%
-
California — down 11.6%
Even the Tesla Cybertruck is losing popularity, forcing the company to cut production.
Protests against Tesla continue, and if this trend persists, it could seriously impact the company’s future and the electric vehicle market.
