Чтобы реализовать подобный уровень автономии, инженеры GM создали новую компьютерную архитектуру для Escalade IQ. Она позволит использовать вычислительные возможности Google Gemini — мощного ИИ, который анализирует дорожные условия, поведение других участников движения и прогнозирует риски в реальном времени.

На первом этапе система будет доступна лишь на определённых маршрутах, заранее изученных ИИ. В General Motors рассчитывают, что к 2028 году правовые нормы будут обновлены, и Escalade IQ станет одним из первых автомобилей с официально разрешённым полным автопилотом.

Если во время поездки система столкнётся с нестандартной ситуацией, она предупредит водителя и попросит взять управление в руки. В случае отсутствия реакции автомобиль аккуратно остановится на обочине.

Для безопасности других участников движения предусмотрена бирюзовая подсветка кузова, сигнализирующая, что автомобиль едет в автономном режиме.
