The new Nissan NX8: an affordable electrified crossover debuts in 2026
Nissan is finalizing development of the new NX8 crossover, which will be part of its budget model lineup and is set to hit the market in 2026. Although the official debut is still ahead, the manufacturer has already released the first images of the vehicle.
The NX8 will be the third model in the new family produced by the Dongfeng-Nissan joint venture in China. Externally, the crossover follows the series’ overall design language: the front end features slim L-shaped LED headlights and an LED strip stretching from one fender to the other. The body design stands out with its high window line, and the taillights feature modern OLED technology.

Dimensions of the Nissan NX8 (2026):
There are no interior photos yet, but judging by the features of other models in the series, the cabin will feature a compact digital instrument panel and a large 15.6-inch multimedia display developed in collaboration with Huawei. Expected features include 19-inch wheels, semi-autonomous driving systems, and an intelligent automatic parking function.
The crossover will be available in all-electric versions with 292 and 340 l.s., as well as a plug-in hybrid variant combining a 1.5-liter turbocharged engine producing 148 л.с. and an electric motor producing 265 л.с. The top speed for all versions is limited to 180 км/ч. The price of the model has not yet been announced, but it is already known that the NX8 is being positioned as a more affordable option compared to the new Nissan Leaf.
