Xpeng AeroHT unveiled its revolutionary flying car, the “Land Aircraft Carrier,” at the international air show in Zhuhai, China, drawing significant attention to new air transportation technologies. This innovative vehicle consists of two key components: the “Mothership” and the flight module.
The main element—the Mothership
—is a 5.5-meter-long, three-axle ground module equipped with Xpeng’s Kunpeng EREV hybrid powertrain. Built on an 800-volt high-voltage platform, it can travel up to 1,000 km in hybrid mode, offering drivers incredible range and fuel efficiency.
A flight module with unique capabilities
The aircraft launches with just the push of a button and can return to the Mothership in a matter of minutes. Externally, the module resembles a large drone with a cockpit for two passengers, providing 5–6 flights on a single charge. It can be charged from 30% to 80% in 18 minutes, making it convenient for both everyday use and short flights.
Fully Autonomous Flight
Mode The “Land Aircraft Carrier” module has already undergone successful autonomous flight testing, demonstrating stable acceleration at low altitudes, controlled descent, and precise landing without pilot intervention. In addition to automatic flight, the device supports manual control, which simplifies the learning curve for piloting, requiring just 3 hours of training.
Prospects for Mass Production and Popularity of the New
Model Xpeng has already begun construction of a factory to produce these modular flying cars, with operations scheduled to begin in 2026 and an annual production capacity of up to 10,000 units. In a short period of time, more than 3,000 customers have placed pre-orders, confirming the high level of interest in the flying car, which is already evolving from a prototype into reality.
