A legend reborn: BMW has unveiled the Speedtop sports wagon with a 625-hp V8

BMW has officially unveiled the successor to the iconic Z3 Coupe—the 2025 Speedtop sports station wagon. The new model was unveiled at the prestigious Concorso d’Eleganza Villa d’Este classic car festival in Italy. Stylish and practical, the BMW Speedtop combines the features of a sports car and a station wagon, is powered by a V8 engine, and will be produced in a limited run of just 70 units, priced at over $500,000.

What is the BMW Speedtop?

The BMW Speedtop is a three-door sports station wagon designed as a more practical alternative to the BMW Skytop roadster. The model is positioned as a modern reinterpretation of the BMW Z3 Coupe, the iconic “shoe” from the late 1990s.

Design and Exterior

The new 2025 BMW Speedtop features a dynamic and distinctive design:

• a long hood and a rear-set cabin;

• high side lines and sculpted wheel arches;

• Skytop-style LED headlights;

• a striking rear spoiler above the trunk glass.
