BYD unveils new electric cars with more than 1,000 hp

BYD is preparing to launch two new electric vehicles—a large sedan and a crossover—that promise to be revolutionary in their class. These models will be available in versions with up to 1,100 horsepower, and acceleration to 100 km/h will take just 2.7 seconds.

New BYD Models: Tang L and Han L

Photos of two new BYD electric cars have appeared online: the BYD Han L sedan and the Tang L crossover. An official presentation of the models is expected soon.

Both models are about 5 meters long and have a wheelbase of nearly 3 meters, ensuring a spacious interior and a comfortable ride.

Design: BYD’s new brand identity

The BYD Han L and Tang L electric vehicles feature an updated design first introduced on the Song L model. Key features:

Clean, sharp edges and modern body lines.
Slim, stylish headlights connected by a curved trim piece.
Taillights that span the full width of the rear of the vehicle.

High-tech interior features

The interior of the vehicles has not yet been revealed, but it is already known that the new BYD electric vehicles will feature:

A slim digital instrument cluster.
A large touchscreen on the center console.
An optional drone with a rooftop docking station will be available for the BYD Tang L crossover.

Specifications and Performance

The new BYD Tang L and Han L will be available in two high-performance electric versions:

A 680-horsepower rear-wheel-drive version.
A 1,100-power all-wheel-drive version capable of accelerating to 100 km/h in 2.7 seconds.

Plug-in hybrid versions with innovative features are also expected:

Engine: a 1.5-liter turbocharged four-cylinder producing 156 l.s.
Electric motors: one producing 272 л.с. (rear-wheel drive) or two with a combined output of 544 л.с. (all-wheel drive).
The all-electric range will be 135–165 km.
