The Tesla Cybertruck was confiscated in England as a banned car — meanwhile the pickup drives freely around Odesa

Police confiscated a Tesla Cybertruck because the vehicle is “illegal in the UK.” The vehicle was registered abroad, which is also prohibited in the UK.
The Bury Police, part of Greater Manchester Police, reported the offense on Facebook. Law enforcement officials also warn against using the Cybertruck, calling it dangerous.
“Officers from the #GMPTransportUnit stopped this Tesla Cybertruck in #Whitefield. The driver is a permanent resident of the UK, but the vehicle was registered and insured abroad, which is prohibited.

The Tesla Cybertruck is illegal on UK roads and does not have a certificate of conformity. While this may seem trivial to some, there are legitimate concerns regarding the safety of other road users or pedestrians if they were to be involved in a collision with the Cybertruck.

Consequently, the vehicle was impounded under Section 165 of the Road Traffic Act, and the driver was notified.

However, the vehicle—which is banned in the UK—appears to be in widespread use in Odessa, Ukraine. In recent days, photos and videos have appeared on social media showing a Tesla Cybertruck driving through the streets of Odessa.
The pickup truck is using a temporary “red” license plate and appears not to have completed the registration process yet. The code 03 indicates it originated in Volyn, but the letters ET belong to the Kherson region. The incomplete registration makes it difficult to identify the owner, who remains unknown. Previously, there were reports of a Cybertruck in Rivne, and this month, reports of a sale in Odessa.
