The Dacora, a luxury electric car developed by the New York-based startup Dacora Motors, was unveiled in the U.S. It is the most expensive American-made electric car, with a starting price of $500,000. The new model will directly compete with the Cadillac Celestiq and the Rolls-Royce Spectre, combining a retro 1930s design with modern technology.

Design by Pininfarina and Streamline Moderne style

The exterior of the Dacora electric car was developed by the renowned Italian design house Pininfarina. The design is inspired by the Streamline Moderne aesthetic—featuring aerodynamic lines, a streamlined body, covered rear wheels, and a wood-trimmed hood. The car looks like a classic on steroids: retro chic in an ultra-luxurious execution.

Interior: Wood, Eco-Leather, and Technology

The Dacora’s interior is designed with a focus on luxury: wood and eco-leather dominate the trim. The dashboard features analog gauges complemented by built-in screens, and instead of a central display, a projection system is used to project images directly onto a wood inlay.

The electric car will be available in configurations ranging from 3 to 7 seats. The three-seat version comes with a rear mobile office, while the four-seat version features individual, high-comfort seats with ventilation, massage functions, and electric adjustment. Options include a cigar humidor, a built-in coffee machine, and even a bonsai tree in its own niche.

At the heart of this new model is an 800-horsepower all-wheel-drive electric powertrain. Despite weighing nearly 3 metric tons (2,948 kg), the electric car accelerates to 100 km/h in less than 4 seconds. It has a range of up to 644 km. A hybrid version is planned for the future.
