Nissan Leaf 2026: a new electric car with a record-low price and a range of up to 600 km

The long-awaited third-generation Nissan Leaf 2026 electric car has officially hit the market. The newcomer has become the brand's most affordable electric car and got an updated body in a compact-crossover format.

A new design and format

Unlike the previous versions, the Nissan Leaf 2026 has changed its look and now looks more like a crossover. Despite using the Nissan Ariya platform, the model kept its compact dimensions: length — 4.35 m, wheelbase — 2.69 m.

Specifications and range

The electric car will be offered in two versions with different powertrains:

• 176 hp with a 430 km range;

• 218 hp with a range of up to 600 km.

Such figures make the new Leaf one of the most affordable electric cars with a long range on a single charge.

Production constraints

Because of China's export restrictions on rare-earth elements, Nissan will temporarily cut production of the model. This may affect the first delivery batches, but the manufacturer plans to gradually ramp up output.
