Charging power up to 600 kW, 7,000 cycles and operation from -35 °C to 65 °C. BYD has created the fastest-charging battery for construction machinery

On November 26, at the Bauma China construction equipment trade show in Shanghai, BYD will unveil the world’s fastest-charging electric battery for construction equipment.

It is reported that the current in this battery will reach 400 A, and the voltage will be 1,500 V. The battery is also expected to support a maximum charging power of 600 kW. Since this is BYD, we are talking about a version of the Blade lithium-iron-phosphate battery. These batteries will be available with capacities ranging from 200 to 2,500 kWh, and the claimed service life will be 7,000 charge cycles. The battery is designed to operate at ambient temperatures ranging from -35 °C to 65 °C.

BYD claims this is the world’s first Blade battery for construction equipment. The battery is also designed to support cell-to-body technology for integration into construction equipment. BYD claims the battery has the world’s fastest charging speed for construction equipment.

This battery is the result of a partnership between BYD’s subsidiary FinDreams and construction equipment manufacturer XCMG. The state-owned company is the largest manufacturer of construction equipment in China and the third-largest in the world.
