The 2025 BYD Atto 3 electric crossover has been officially unveiled in China with a starting price of 115,800 yuan ($15,940). The new model is now more affordable and features an improved design, the advanced God’s Eye C (DiPilot 100) ADAS system, and a built-in refrigerator. Compared to the 2024 version, the updated Atto 3 is 1,000 yuan ($140) cheaper, making it even more competitive.

BYD Atto 3: Popularity and Intensifying Competition

The BYD Atto 3 (known in some countries as the Yuan Plus) is one of the best-selling electric cars in China. However, amid growing competition, the model has begun to lose ground. In 2023, 275,233 units were sold, down 11.1% from the previous year. In response to market changes, BYD introduced the updated Atto 3 with a number of improvements aimed at attracting new buyers.

Key Changes to the Updated BYD Atto 3

The new version of the crossover features an updated exterior:

  • An enlarged trapezoidal air intake;

  • A digital instrument cluster (8.8 inches);

  • A 12-inch head-up display;

  • A camera on the A-pillar to monitor the driver;

  • Built-in refrigerator for convenience on the road.

ADAS Intelligent Driving System

One of the major updates is the ADAS God’s Eye C (DiPilot 100) system. It includes three cameras mounted under the windshield and supports Navigation On Autopilot (NOA) for automated driving on highways in 10 different scenarios. In the future, the system will receive an update adding NOA support for city driving.

Technical Specifications and Prices

The BYD Atto 3 is equipped with a 150 kW (201 PS) electric motor on the front axle and is available with two LFP battery options:

  • 49.9 kWh (430 km range per CLTC);

  • 60.5 kWh (510 km range per CLTC).

Prices for the updated BYD Atto 3 in China range from 115,800 to 145,800 yuan ($15,940–$20,070). The base model has dropped in price by 1,000 yuan, while the top-of-the-line model has increased in price by 1,000 yuan.
