Official Debut of the Kia EV4 – The Sedan and Hatchback of the Future
Kia has unveiled its new Kia EV4 electric vehicle in two body styles: a sedan and a five-door hatchback. The world premiere took place in Tarragona, Spain, and the car’s key specifications are already known. The EV4 has a range of up to 630 km, and it accelerates to 100 km/h in just 7.4 seconds!
Design and Dimensions of the Kia EV4
The new Kia EV4 has inherited some features from the gasoline-powered Kia K4 but boasts a unique, futuristic style with signature elements from Kia’s electric lineup.
Dimensions:
- Hatchback: 4,430 mm (length) × 1,860 mm (width) × 1,485 mm (height)
- Sedan: 4,730 mm (length) × 1,860 mm (width) × 1,480 mm (height)
- Wheelbase: 2,820 mm
- Trunk capacity: 490 L for the sedan, 436 L for the hatchback
Kia EV4 Technical Specifications
Both versions are built on the 400-volt E-GMP platform. At the heart of the vehicle is a 204 l.s. electric motor mounted on the front axle, along with two battery options:
- Standard: 58.3 kWh (range up to 410 km for the hatchback, 430 km for the sedan)
- Extended: 81.4 kWh (590 km for the hatchback, 630 km for the sedan)
- Top speed: 170 km/h
- 0–100 km/h acceleration: 7.4 seconds for the sedan, 7.7 seconds for the hatchback
Comfort and Technology
The centerpiece of the interior is a widescreen 30-inch display under a glass panel, consisting of three screens. Top-tier versions feature Vehicle Smart TV with Netflix, YouTube, Disney+, and karaoke support.
Additionally, the Kia EV4 features:
- Kia Digital Key 2.0 (unlocking and control via smartphone, Apple Watch support)
- SFD3 adaptive suspension with hydraulic dampers for a smooth ride
- Advanced safety systems
- "Relax" and "Theater" modes for a comfortable in-car experience
When will the Kia EV4 be available in Europe and Ukraine?
Production of the Kia EV4 sedan will begin in March 2025 in South Korea, while the hatchback will be manufactured in Slovakia. European sales of the hatchback are scheduled for the second half of 2025. Delivery dates for the Kia EV4 in Ukraine will be announced closer to summer.
