Sales of cars from China in Ukraine have set a record: the most popular models of 2025

The market for Chinese cars in Ukraine is growing rapidly. The year 2025 set records for both total sales volume and the share of electric vehicles. The vast majority of imported cars are modern electric vehicles from Volkswagen, BYD, and Zeekr.

According to data from the Ukravtoprom association, 29,300 cars from China were sold in Ukraine last year, nearly double the number from the previous year.

Electric vehicles from China dominate the market

The overwhelming majority of Chinese-made cars in Ukraine are electric vehicles (91%). At the same time, the new car market is showing particularly impressive growth.

In 2025, Ukrainians purchased:

• 24,000 new electric vehicles from China,

• a 118% increase compared to 2024,

• and the share of electric cars in the new car market rose to a record 29.5%.

The Volkswagen ID.UNYX electric crossover became the sales leader, firmly establishing itself as the most popular Chinese car in Ukraine.

The used car segment is also actively developing. In 2025, 5,300 used cars were imported into Ukraine from China, which is 61% more than in 2024.

Their share of the used car market currently stands at 1.9%, but demand is steadily increasing.
