Subaru has unveiled an economical hybrid and the extreme Forester Wilderness crossover
Subaru is expanding its sixth-generation Forester lineup with two new models: a hybrid and the off-road Wilderness. These models were unveiled at the Chicago Auto Show, according to Subaru’s official website.
Subaru Forester Wilderness: Built for Off-Road Adventure
The new Forester Wilderness is designed specifically for challenging conditions and features an aggressive design:

A redesigned front end and reinforced plastic body kit;

17-inch Yokohama Geolandar off-road tires;

Water-resistant materials in the cabin for maximum practicality.
Ground clearance has been increased to 236 mm, and thanks to the special geometry of the bumpers, the approach angle has increased to 23.5°, and the departure angle to 25.5°. Reinforced suspension, CVT, and all-wheel drive enhance reliability and off-road capability.
Under the hood of the Subaru Forester Wilderness:

a 2.5-liter gasoline engine producing 180 l.s.;

Symmetrical all-wheel drive for confident off-road driving.
Sales of the Subaru Forester Wilderness are scheduled to begin in fall 2024.
Subaru Forester Hybrid: Fuel-Efficient and Effective
The Subaru Forester Hybrid features a fuel-efficient powertrain similar to that of the Subaru Crosstrek:

a 2.5-liter boxer engine (162 l.s.);

An electric motor with 118 l.s.;

Total output: 194 l.s.;

Fuel consumption reduced by 40%—to 6.7 L/100 km;

Range on a full tank: 935 km.
The 1.1 kWh battery allows the vehicle to travel several kilometers on pure electric power, reducing CO₂ emissions.
Sales Launch
Sales of the new Subaru Forester Hybrid will begin in spring 2024.
