The Lotus Theory 1 embodies 'all of Lotus's achievements over 76 years of history': an exclusive design, a top speed of 320 km/h, level-4 autopilot and much more. Production models are planned based on this concept
The Lotus Theory 1 is a three-seater supercar built on a carbon-fiber chassis. Its dimensions are 4,490 × 1,140 × 2,000 mm, with a wheelbase of 2,650 mm.
The car is equipped with a 70 kWh battery, which provides a range of up to 402 km according to the WLTP standard. Two electric motors with a combined output of 987 l.s. enable acceleration to 100 km/h in less than 2.5 seconds. The Lotus Theory 1 features all-wheel drive, and its top speed is limited to 320 km/h.
Ben Payne, Vice President of Design, commented on the new electric car: “In the Theory 1, we’ve channeled all 76 years of Lotus’s experience to push the boundaries of what it means to drive a car like this.”
The driver-assistance features are built on the Nvidia Drive computing platform, which Lotus refers to as the foundation for its Lotuswear technology. The Theory 1 features Level 4 hardware capabilities, four lidars, six HD cameras, and a combination of long- and short-range millimeter-wave radars, as well as ultrasonic radars. Together, Lotus calls this a 360-degree autonomous driving sensor suite.
