Electric-car sales in Ukraine continue to grow rapidly. In August 2025 Ukrainians registered more than 7,900 electric cars, which is 13% more than in July and 22.5% higher than last year's figure. This is reported by the «Ukrautoprom» association.

Why Ukrainians are rushing to buy electric cars

The growing interest in electric cars is explained not only by their convenience and economy, but also by changes in legislation. As early as 2026 Ukraine will scrap the customs-clearance incentives for electric cars, and owners will have to pay VAT. So many are trying to buy a car right now.

Among new electric cars in Ukraine in August, the leaders were Chinese-made models and European newcomers.
