It has been announced that the General Motors battery will support fast charging with a 900-volt direct current (6C class). In this mode, it will be possible to add 200 km of range in just 5 minutes.

They plan to achieve this result by implementing a number of new technologies. Specifically, the battery will feature an electrolyte with increased electrical conductivity, a new graphite anode, and an improved insulating coating. In addition, LFP batteries are safer because they are less susceptible to overheating.

It has been announced that General Motors electric vehicles built on the updated Ultium platform will be the first to receive the new batteries. A Buick electric car is expected to be the first model to feature them.
