Ukraine's new-car market has almost returned to 2021 levels
By the end of 2025, the Ukrainian new-car market had managed to virtually replicate the growth trend observed before the war—in 2021. This was particularly noticeable in the final months of the year, when sales rose steadily.
For example, in October 2025, 8,003 new cars were sold—almost as many as in October 2021, when the market recorded sales of 8,024 vehicles. In November, the gap was also minimal: 8,534 cars sold compared to 8,819 four years earlier.
According to preliminary estimates, December 2025 will close with approximately 10,000 new cars sold for the month. By comparison, in December 2021, Ukrainians purchased 10,594 cars, indicating an almost complete recovery in monthly sales volumes.
However, when looking at the results for the entire year, the difference still remains. In 2021, the market reached 103,604 cars sold, whereas in 2025, the expected result will be around 81,000 units.
The main reason for the shortfall is a poor start to the year. In the first few months, the market experienced a decline, and it was only toward the end of the year that it was able to return to positive momentum and steady growth.
