The Zeekr 7X has entered production and is preparing for a September 20 launch
Zeekr announced that the first batch of Zeekr 7X
electric crossovers has rolled off the assembly line (detailed specifications are available). Sales are scheduled to begin on September 20, 2024, with an expected starting price of 239,900 yuan (approximately $33,800).
Pre-orders for the Zeekr 7X began on August 30, 2024, and more than 20,000 orders were received in the first week. This midsize electric SUV is 4,825 mm long, 1,930 mm wide, and has a wheelbase of 2,925 mm. Built on Geely’s SEA platform, the 7X is equipped with an 800-volt high-voltage system. Two battery options are available: a 75 kWh lithium iron phosphate (LFP) battery with a range of 605 km, and a 100 kWh Qilin battery from CATL, providing up to 780 km of range (according to CLTC standards).
The 7X is available in both single-motor and dual-motor configurations. The single-motor version produces 310 kW, while the dual-motor version produces 475 kW, allowing it to accelerate from 0 to 100 km/h in 3.8 seconds. Both versions support fast charging, which allows the battery to be charged from 10% to 80% in about 10.5 minutes.
The interior features a 16-inch Mini LED touchscreen with 3.5K resolution, a 13-inch OLED screen for rear passengers, and a 6-inch touchscreen in the rear armrest. The infotainment system runs on a Qualcomm Snapdragon 8295 chip. The interior features NAPPA leather upholstery, a physical sun visor, and a power-operated panoramic sunroof. Some models also include heated and ventilated rear seats and fold-out tray tables.
Deliveries of the 7X to China are set to begin in late September, with international deliveries scheduled for 2025. The 7X is designed to compete with electric SUVs such as the Tesla Model Y and the Xpeng G6 (see specifications). The top-of-the-line trim is expected to cost less than 300,000 yuan (about $42,300).
