The new 2026 Ram 1500 TRX: the 700+ hp pickup returns to beat the Ford Raptor R

Ram, the American automotive giant and a subsidiary of Stellantis, has officially confirmed the return of an updated version of the legendary Ram 1500 TRX pickup truck to the market. Production is set to begin in January 2026, and the model is already being called one of the most anticipated high-performance off-road vehicles of the decade.

Supercharged HEMI V8 engine—up to 727+ l.s.

According to preliminary information, the new 2026 Ram TRX will feature a 6.2-liter supercharged HEMI V8 engine, already familiar from the previous TRX, where it produced 702 l.s. and 880 Н·м. However, an increase in power is expected: the engine could reach 727–818 l.s., as in the Dodge Hellcat Redeye and Super Stock versions.

Such an upgrade could make the TRX the world’s most powerful production pickup truck, capable of outpacing its competitor—the Ford F-150 Raptor R, equipped with a 720-l.s. V8 from the Shelby GT500.

Platform and drivetrain: even more off-road capabilities

The new TRX will be built on the reinforced Ram 1500 RHO frame, feature aggressive off-road body kit, all-wheel drive, and an 8-speed automatic transmission. Expected improvements include:

• upgraded suspension,

• increased ground clearance,

• sport shocks,

• and improved off-road and towing capabilities.

The 2026 TRX will be the first model from the new SRT division

The TRX will also be the first model following the restructuring of the SRT performance division within Stellantis. According to insiders, the pickup will feature unique exterior elements: flared fenders, sport bumpers, a new grille design, and the signature TRX emblem.

Pre-orders and Market Interest

The success of the Ram 1500’s return with a naturally aspirated V8 demonstrated enormous interest from Americans—10,000 pre-orders in the first 24 hours. The new TRX is sure to replicate this success, especially given the growing demand for high-performance pickups.

When will the new TRX debut?

The public unveiling of the 2026 Ram TRX is expected by the end of 2025. Pricing, trim levels, and technical specifications will be released closer to the sales launch. Rumor has it that the price will be higher than the previous version but lower than that of its closest competitors in the segment.
