The new AC GT SuperSport: a British classic with supercar power
The legendary British brand AC Cars has unveiled plans to release an exclusive model capable of impressing even the most discerning enthusiasts of classic cars and cutting-edge technology. The new model, named the AC GT SuperSport, will be produced in a limited run of just 25 cars, priced starting at $550,000 (excluding taxes). The first lucky buyers will take delivery of their roadsters in 2027.
The GT SuperSport will be the most powerful car in AC Cars’ history. At its heart is a modified American V8 engine that now produces an impressive 1,025 horsepower. This powerplant allows the car to deliver performance unmatched by traditional British roadsters of past decades.
Engineers paid special attention to aerodynamics: for the first time on a production model from the brand, a large fixed rear wing has been installed. Its appearance may surprise fans of classic designs—after all, it clearly stands out from the familiar silhouette inspired by the legendary Cobra of the 1960s. Nevertheless, the developers insist: the rear wing is necessary for confident road grip and stable handling at high speeds.
In addition to the rear wing, the GT SuperSport features a redesigned front bumper with an enlarged air intake, new side skirts, and a massive rear diffuser that emphasizes the model’s racing character. All these elements work to improve handling and downforce, making the roadster suitable not only for shows but also for spirited driving.
AC Cars positions its creation as a “gift to American collectors.” The U.S. remains the brand’s primary market, which is why the car combines outstanding power and the striking design characteristic of modern hypercars while retaining the spirit of British classics.
