The updated 2026 Kia Sportage: the key features of the US version

At the Los Angeles Auto Show, Kia unveiled the redesigned 2026 Kia Sportage for the U.S. market. The crossover has been upgraded in both design and technical specifications, offering versions with a conventional engine, a hybrid, and a PHEV (plug-in hybrid).

The new model’s design aligns with the global version. Key highlights:

• Two 12.3-inch digital displays combined into a single curved panel oriented toward the driver.

• Smart Key system with remote engine start capability.

To enhance comfort, the following are available depending on the trim level:

The engine lineup is tailored to the needs of the U.S. market:

• Base model: 2.5-liter four-cylinder engine with 190 l.s., paired with an 8-speed automatic transmission.
• Hybrid: A 1.6-liter turbocharged engine and an electric motor, with a combined output of 231 l.s.
• PHEV: a powertrain based on a 1.6-liter engine, producing 272 l.s., delivering both power and environmental friendliness.

Please note that the 1.6-liter turbocharged engine with a 7-speed transmission, available in the global version, is not offered in the U.S. model.

The 2026 Kia Sportage will arrive at U.S. dealerships in late spring 2025. Pricing will be announced closer to the start of sales.
