The 2026 Chevrolet Equinox unveiled: a new color and improvements

General Motors has announced an update for the 2026 Chevrolet Equinox. The vehicle features a new exterior color and several improvements, continuing the success of the fourth generation, which was released in 2025 with a completely redesigned exterior and interior.

New Color: Polar White

According to GM Authority, the 2026 Chevrolet Equinox will introduce a new body color option—Polar White (paint code G4J)—which will replace Iridescent Pearl Tricoat (paint code G1W). This color was first added to the Equinox lineup in 2016. Polar White will be available only on the Activ and RS trims and will not be offered on the base LT trim, where Summit White (paint code GAZ) will remain available. There will be an additional charge for the new color. For comparison, the Iridescent Pearl Tricoat paint for the 2025 models was offered for $995.

Production and Pre-Order Dates

Mass production of the 2026 Chevrolet Equinox will begin on March 17, 2025, and dealers will start accepting pre-orders as early as January 30, 2025. This will allow potential buyers to select their desired vehicle configuration in advance.

Technical Specifications and Production

The fourth-generation Chevrolet Equinox is built on the GM D2 platform and is equipped with a 1.5-liter turbocharged I4 LSD gasoline engine. Production takes place at the GM plant in San Luis Potosí, Mexico.

Conclusion

The 2026 Chevrolet Equinox retains the style and functionality of the previous generation while adding fresh features, including the new Polar White exterior color. This update strengthens the model’s market position by offering customers more customization options.
