Nissan has unveiled the extreme 1,000-hp Infiniti QX80 R-Spec — a powerful rival to the Mercedes G-Class (photos)

Nissan has unveiled an exclusive version of its flagship SUV, the Infiniti QX80 R-Spec.
The model, equipped with a 1,000-horsepower turbocharged engine, was built as a one-of-a-kind vehicle for the legendary 2024 SEMA Show in Las Vegas.

The project showcases the capabilities of the premium Infiniti Performance Engineering division and aims to demonstrate that the QX80 can compete with the Mercedes-AMG G63 and even supercars.

Infiniti QX80 R-Spec: A 1,000-horsepower engine from the Nissan GT-R Nismo

The standout feature of the QX80 R-Spec is the 3.8-liter twin-turbo V6 engine from the iconic Nissan GT-R Nismo, specially modified for the SUV.
After installing new turbochargers, an exhaust system, and a reinforced fuel system, its power output has increased to 1,000 horsepower, and its torque exceeds 1,100 N·m.

As a result, the Infiniti QX80 R-Spec has become the most powerful SUV in the brand’s history and one of the most powerful SUVs in the world.

A New Level of Handling and Braking

The engineers didn’t stop at replacing the engine.
They also borrowed 390-mm carbon-ceramic brakes from the GT-R Nismo, ensuring maximum braking efficiency.

In addition, the SUV is equipped with:

• an Eibach sports suspension with adaptive shock absorbers;

• an electronic rear differential for precise torque distribution;

• retuned steering, delivering supercar-like responsiveness.

Design: Aggression and Style

The new Infiniti QX80 R-Spec features an extreme carbon-fiber body kit, a massive rear spoiler, flared wheel arches, and four exhaust tips.

Yokohama Parada Spec-X tires are mounted on 24-inch wheels, and the body is painted in a deep purple shade called R-Spec Purple.
The front end features upgraded fog lights and a black grille with an aggressive texture.
